Usage! collects nothing. There are no analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no advertising identifiers and no third-party SDKs. We run no servers, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent to us — and it isn't.
To show you device statistics, the app reads — on your device — storage capacity, memory statistics, CPU load (total and per core) and the system thermal state, battery level and charging state, the battery level reported by connected game controllers, network interface byte counters and IP addresses, device model, iOS version, and system boot time.
These values are displayed to you and stored on your device, in the app's own App Group container, so history charts work. Measurement history never leaves your device — it is not synced, backed up to us, or transmitted anywhere.
The Batteries widgets can also show the charge level of Bluetooth accessories you already use. This is off until you switch it on in Preferences, which is the only moment iOS will ask you for Bluetooth permission.
When it is on, the app asks iOS which already-connected accessories publish the Bluetooth SIG's standard Battery Service (GATT 0x180F), and reads two public values from them: the battery level and the name or appearance the accessory itself advertises. The app does not scan for nearby devices, does not harvest advertisements, does not pair anything, and runs no Bluetooth activity in the background. Accessory names and identifiers stay on your device — they are never synced and never transmitted.
If you turn on Cloud Sync (a Pro feature), the app mirrors your preferences — the settings of the cards you opted in, your card order, and your theme — through your own private iCloud key-value storage, so they follow you to your other devices. That is Apple's iCloud, tied to your Apple Account; we have no servers and no access to it. Nothing else is synced: not your measurement history, not your accessory names, not your data-plan figures. With Cloud Sync off, the app does not read from or write to iCloud at all.
Battery capacity in mAh is an estimate derived from your device model's published design capacity; it is not a measurement of your battery's health.
Usage! Pro is processed entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment details. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles transactions.
